Humming Urban Stereo

Chiinz was telling me about this Korean electronica artist called Humming Urban Stereo and since then I can’t seem to stop listening to his stuff.

Humming Urban Stereo – Space Loves Disco (feat. Simone of ‘D`Sound)

Humming Urban Stereo – Scully Doesn’t Know (Korean version)

This one’s an interesting track…he used Mickey Rourke’s narration from Sin City to create the song:

Humming Urban Stereo – Goldie

If you like these chillaxin’ tracks, I really recommend trying to get his albums. :)

One more day

Sissy:

“Why are there so many bats in this game?”

“Why does batman have two pointy ears? He’s not a bat!”

“I don’t get it.”

One more day till Sissy’s dissertation deadline. Till then I’m staying in my room. 8O

Notting Hill carnival

Despite its reputation for ‘poor safety’ (stabbings, racial abuse, people die, etc etc), a group of us decided to check out what the Notting Hill carnival was all about. Tomorrow’s officially the real carnival while today is the “kids version”, though there sure was a lot of pot in the air for a kids carnival. Well that way everyone’s happy right? It’s a good thing we went today and not tomorrow, and that we went around noon and not later…cause the crowds were picking up as the day went on. How crowded? This crowded:

Rounding it up

Big thanks to Chiinz and Sasha for not only treating me to Korean last night…but giving me a great gift as well:

This has been one heck of a birthday and will be hard to forget. Thanks so much guys!

All hail the Amazon wish list!

Legend

Today is the day I have been waiting for.

Wait…scratch that.

Today is the day I have been living for.

Ok, I kinda lied. I was at GAME yesterday when I found out that Paul Dini was gonna be there today for an autograph session. Apparently he’s the writer of the new Batman game that launched today in Europe. And so I thought to myself, hmmm I really enjoyed the demo, maybe I should go in tomorrow and buy the game on launch day…though should I even bother? Then I went home and wikied the guy:

Paul Dini (born August 7, 1957) is an American television producer of animated cartoons. He is best known as a producer and writer for several Warner Bros./DC Comics series, including Star Wars: Ewoks, Tiny Toon Adventures, Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, The New Batman/Superman Adventures, Batman Beyond and Duck Dodgers. He also developed and scripted Krypto the Superdog and contributed scripts to Animaniacs (he created Minerva Mink), Freakazoid, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. After leaving Warner Bros. in early 2004, Dini went on to write and story edit the popular ABC adventure series Lost. He has earned five Emmy awards for his animation work.

My eyes stopped at Tiny Toons. It’s like everything else started fading into a big blur of white. This guy, whom I didn’t even know existed till 24 hours ago, is my childhood hero. No, not only that..he’s a LEGEND. Tiny Toons! Animaniacs! How can I not go in today and be able to live with myself for the rest of my life? What will my future children think of me? What will anyone think of me?

So of course, I decided that I had to stop by GAME today to see the man in the flesh. Here’s a shot while I was queuing up:

I was one of the few females in line. Except one of them was a little girl who exclaimed “mommy look it’s batman!” when a guy in a godawful batman suit walked by…and the other was accompanying her boyfriend. Did I care? No. Nothing was going to stop me from meeting my hero! When it finally came to my turn, I nervously pulled out 2 Batman games (one for me and one for Cuz) which I had just bought for him to sign. You know…to break the ice. And then I giggled a little and asked him “is it true that you wrote Tiny Toons?”. Now, at this point I think he thought I was a little looney…but he was really nice and signed my Tiny Toons picture I had brought along (thanks Sissy). After that, I giggled a bit more and scurried away…knocking down one of those boxes on the floor in the process.

Yup, he definitely thought I was a little crazy.

But who cares right? As long as you get what you want? Here are my little treasures from today:

I’m going to laminate the last one and frame it up!

Yay. :P

Worst kept secret pt.2

Somewhere lost in all the excitement of getting an xbox, is another craftily planned surprise…this time by Sissy. Remember this post, when I smugly thought I had it all figured out? To which Sissy replied:

Hey! It’s just fun to pretend that the present that you asked for on your site & signed for on delivery isn’t yours. But don’t congratulate yourself on your detective skills yet…You may be surprised.

She was right. At midnight, she walked into my room with my presents (dun dun dun!) and I opened it thinking that it was a Wii Motion Plus and Kitchen Confidential. Lookie what it turned out to be instead:

It’s official

I have the best friends…EVER.

Throughout the past few weeks, my friends have been acting really odd towards what they got me for my birthday present. And I have to say….I was completely fooled! I thought they had bought me the Wii Sports Resort which vanished from my Amazon wish list. In fact, I was sure of it. Chris told me that it wasn’t what I had expected and hinted that it may not be the Wii Sports Resort…but somehow he seemed confident to me that I would still be happy. Even Tej was acting all odd on me.

Well, today I finally got that present during an amazing dinner at Fino. Hit the jump to see just how AWESOME my friends are…

Maths time

Every time I think that SM Entertainment can’t come up with worse names for their groups, they prove me wrong. Every. Single. Time.

First, they came up with group names which no one can remember cause they’re in Korean (Dong Bang Shin Ki and So Nyeo Shi Dae).

Then they came up with Shinee (pronounced as shiny), a group of 5 boys.

And now, they’ve resorted to names that aren’t even words. Below is a teaser for their new girl group called f(x).

If you did watch the video above, you must be wondering…wait I thought you said girl group. What is that guy doing there? Here’s a picture for better reference:

An essay

Went for my echocardiogram test today at the heart hospital. I thought I was going to take the test and leave but no…I was sent all over the building. Boo. The letter I got said that I had an echo test scheduled today but for some reason they had me do an ECG. If I wasn’t confused enough, the person doing the ECG was a young guy, not too shabby looking…who told me to “take my top off”. Now, I know you guys expect me to have my top flying off upon hearing those words..but no. I do have a little bit of dignity left in me. After a few awkward minutes, the guy asked me to go see a doctor on the second floor with the ECG results. He said I didn’t have any other tests scheduled….odd.

So off I went. On the way I saw this precious little old woman in a wheelchair. Her helper was leaving her for a while and as he walked away, the old woman called after him in her frail voice…”waittt…are the brakesss onnnnnnn?”. Awww..bless. I bet she has had some bad experiences with the brakes in the past. Maybe someone left her on top of a hill? Anyways, so I was taking the lift to the second floor and when I got there I was pretty lost. I was thinking to myself, this isn’t right. At one corner people where unloading rubbish from the operating theatre and the ICU was on the other side. So I asked a nurse and she confirmed what I thought, I was at the bloody wrong floor. The lift had somehow stopped at the first floor instead of the second. This is what you get when you’ve been too busy checking yourself out with the mirror in the lift.

With a sigh, I got back into the lift and made sure I got off at the right floor. The lift said second floor, the mysterious lift voice confirmed that it was the second floor. As I stepped out, I felt the same lost feeling I had…this doesn’t look right at all. So I asked another nurse and she said, “oh yes you’re at the wrong floor, it’s the other second floor”. The other second floor?? OTHER SECOND FLOOR???? Today was not my day. I was at the wrong section of the strangely small building and had to take the lift back to the ground floor and find another bunch of lifts. Fine. I gotta do what I gotta do. When I finally did arrive at the correct second floor *ahem*, I was still lost. Surprise surprise. I’m always lost. The doors had no names on them so I wasn’t sure which room belonged to my doctor. Once again I went to a nurse for assistance, what angels they are, and in her angelic voice she said “oh but your doctor isn’t in today..he’s on leave”. Frick! Did I just run around the whole building for nothing? I blame this all on the dude who did my ECG…give me back my shred of dignity!

Since I had the opportunity, I told the nurse about my test mix-up and she said that it was clearly stated in my letter that I was to do an echo test. This, I blame the receptionist. SOOOO! Off i went again, back to the reception, explained myself and finally I was put in line for an echocardiogram. And that’s my story. If there was one good thing about today, at least they didn’t make me wait long for both my tests. I waited for about maximum 10 minutes…which is nothing especially when you have an iPhone. Speaking of iPhones, me getting one was totally justified today when I was finding my way to the hospital. I turned the compass function on and it showed me the way! Who needs God?

I’m going back to the hospital next week to see the doc. Lets just hope he’ll be there.

Body Worlds

After a lot of stressing out if Chris and I could make it to the O2 arena on time (train chasing included), we did make it in the end. The Jubilee line was down today which made it a bitch to get to the O2. Anyways, since it was my first time there, I decided to camwhore a bit outside the arena.
