Getting ready to party
Nov 6th
Small update. Got a freelance job this weekend. Imagine my surprise when I found that I’m working on footage from Jay Sean’s music video. I love that song! I’ve even posted it on my blog before lol…
Then mom & co are coming over!
Yayyyyyyy!
Can’t wait.
Another week
Oct 13th
The company asked me if I was free to work for another week. This was my reaction:
-_-
I don’t think I looked happy. Maybe it’s because they’re paying me £50 a day. Or maybe it’s because Uncharted 2 is coming out this week and I want to play it every second of every day. *cough*
But of course, I couldn’t turn the job down.
Compare earning £50 a day to earning £0 for bumming at home (actually bumming at home with Uncharted 2 = priceless). Plus, the company I’m working at is pretty well known…working there for a longer time could earn me some street cred. :p
So it looks like another week of work for me. Wait, why does it sound like I’m complaining when just last week I was dying for a job? Sigh..I really should appreciate the things I have in life. I’ve made up my mind that for £50, they’ll have my mind and soul during working hours. They can keep my body after work but that’s a different story. One minute after and I’m gone. No extra hours, no extra dedication. That’s gonna be my work ethic (lol). And it’s weird that normally after work, I usually feel totally drained and can’t wait to crash. But with my current job I feel completely normal, I return home feeling the same as I felt when I left. It’s like I wasn’t even working…strange.
Work
Oct 10th
First official weekend for my week long job.
Really liking it so far. The office is near my place and I get to wear jeans to work. How awesome is that? Plus everyone is just so chilled…you can do whatever you want whenever you want as long as you get your work done of course. No one’s going to question you if you decide to take a short break outside…or go to the kitchen to make food. They have free cereal, juice, bread and etc.
And they have cleaners coming to your table around twice a day to collect your empty bowls or cups. Not to forget these people love their alcohol…for the few days I’ve been working there, people seem to be drinking after work every time. On Fridays, they bring in a whole pack of beer and a few bottles of wine and plop it in the middle of the office. In like 5 minutes it’ll be gone and I assume people will be off to the pubs.
AND my supervisor is so nice…too nice in fact, to the point that I’m over thinking. What if she’s being nice just to test me??? Hmmm…haha. My mind needs to stop stressing out so much.
The only downside to this is my pay (£50 a day) but it’s not so bad considering it’s better than bumming at home like I’ve been doing. Plus this is good experience for my CV…working at an Oscar winning company. Wooooo.
I have another 5 days to go, which is perfect cause Uncharted 2 comes out on my last day lol. And we all know when Uncharted 2 comes out I’ll be in hiding for a long time..it’s like I will have disappeared from the face of the planet. Well, unless they renew my contract…but it probably depends on if they’re busy.
Ok, going to shower. Meeting up with the girls later to watch Meatballs (again for me) and maybe have some dinner. After that I’m off to some Halloween party held by some people from my course. Tomorrow, will have lunch with people from 7oaks and dinner with some other people from my course. I think I’ve said this before but when something happens, everything else will start happening at the same time. Hoohoo…
Random bits
Sep 28th
Some pics taken this week using the iPhone:

The fantastic dinner Chiinz made…SO YUM!

The special edition Ugly Betty Coke bottle, appropriately named The Betty. Sissy got it from the London Fashion weekend.

Darth Vader Mighty Mugg I got for Func’s birthday present. I really like it…should’ve kept it for myself haha.

And finally, I was walking with Chris when we saw this HUGE line of people with balloons near Carnaby Street. It looked like they were lining up for some kind of cafe so we were puzzled. Turns out that the cafe is an exact replica of the cafe set from Friends. I knew it looked familiar lol…people (mostly teenage girls and old women) were going crazy in there.
That’s about it. Maybe more random stuff later. Hi Mom and Dad!
Haha

For the past few days, I’ve been checking me email every second to see if my Uncharted 2 multiplayer code had arrived. I preordered my copy of the game from Play.com earlier this week and I still hadn’t received my code to access the multiplayer section. I was so desperate for it, I actually called up Play which drained my phone credit.
Well, my code arrived minutes ago! But instead of being absolutely elated, I’m left here laughing to myself. Why?
Because we don’t have any bloody electricity! The whole block is out and they’re not sure what’s wrong. They’re even drilling outside for some reason to check. I may be laughing now, but when I return later with still no electricity, I’m going to be very grumpy!
K, gotta go. I can’t believe I typed all this on the iPhone…
I’m smart
Sep 14th
Went to visit Kasia and her Cookie Monster today.
Cookie Monster is still the same tiny boy as I’ve last seen him but there’s one thing different about him: he’s talking…like a lot. Gone are the days where he’ll grunt, point and take your hand when he wants something. Now I actually know what he’s saying. It’s all too cute…he’ll be walking by and saying stuff in his little voice like “I’m a superstar. I’m a superstar walking”. The little guy is a superstar.
Now that he can talk, it’s dangerous to forget that he can understand you as well. I think it becomes a habit for most parents to talk about their kids in front of them, thinking that they won’t understand what you’re saying cause they’re still young…but kids somehow pick it up. They just know. I don’t think Cookie understands what autism is but when Kasia was talking to us about it, Cookie suddenly said “I’m strange”. My heart broke into a million pieces at that moment.
The tiny, wide-eyed 3 year old with an adorable mushroom haircut kept saying “I’m strange, I’m strange”. And of course we assured him, no you’re not strange! And to that he replied, “I’m strange but I’m smart!”.
Throughout the whole day, Cookie kept repeating the same words: “I’m smart”. Kasia told him that I thought he was cute. He didn’t seemed impressed and said “No, I’m smart”. The little dude obviously knew what was up but it was just so sad that he feels he has to justify that he’s actually smart. He’s still so small! I have no doubt in my mind that he’s going to grow up fine. His parents are great and he’s learning so much from school…he may need more help than others but that shouldn’t be a problem. Cookie, if you’re reading this you’re not strange! You’re the best little dude out there. Keep it cool.
It never stops

Sissy surprised me with yet another birthday present today:

A monkey pouch for my iPhone!
Time out
Sep 5th
I have a 2 to 3 days job this weekend so I’m gonna disappear for a while. But knowing me I’ll keep coming online anyways…
Ahhh…it’s nice to work from home.
On the downside, I’ve just spent about £550 on a program I’ve been debating if I should buy for almost a year. I think it’s time though since I keep using it and I need it for my job.
And I’ve finished Batman. Not 100% completion…not sure if I can be bothered to do that.
Umm..bye.
The oddest dining experience
Sep 3rd
First things first, congrats to Tej and Monz for graduating! *cheers all around*
Mona’s sisters are in town for the graduation and suggested that we go try out this special restaurant as a form of celebration. What’s so special about this place? Well, this is what you see in the dining area where you’re eating:

Notting Hill carnival
Aug 30th
Despite its reputation for ‘poor safety’ (stabbings, racial abuse, people die, etc etc), a group of us decided to check out what the Notting Hill carnival was all about. Tomorrow’s officially the real carnival while today is the “kids version”, though there sure was a lot of pot in the air for a kids carnival. Well that way everyone’s happy right? It’s a good thing we went today and not tomorrow, and that we went around noon and not later…cause the crowds were picking up as the day went on. How crowded? This crowded:
